The uses and methods of consensus building are constantly evolving and a rich literature now exists chronicling both the theoretical and the practical aspects of the field. Through outreach, mediators share what they have learned about using new models of collaboration to achieve results with colleagues and potential users of consensus building processes. This helps stakeholders learn about when and how to use the tools of consensus building and helps mediators to reflect on and improve their practice.
