Research & Evaluation
How RESOLVE Can Help
By working with other organizations and
investing its own resources, RESOLVE has carried
out research and evaluation projects aimed at:
- Developing better understanding of
what happens in consensus building processes and
what works. While research and theory building
have advanced significantly in the dispute
resolution field, knowledge is still unorganized
and unsynthesized and widely dispersed across
disciplines and professions. Often the most
valuable information for the stakeholders and
for public policy makers is tacit. That is, it
has been learned through experience. It has not
been uncovered or explicated. Our mission is to
make that implicit knowledge explicit.
- Serving as a catalyst for shared learning
about the resolution of public policy disputes
and as a bridge-builder between practitioners,
researchers, the policy community and other
opinion leaders.
- Helping stakeholders better understand
and use dispute resolution processes by
sharing accumulated experience and lessons
learned.
