Mahlette Betre

Mahlette is an environment and development professional based in Washington, DC. Previously, Mahlette was Director for the Responsible Mining and Energy Program at Conservation International, where she worked for over ten years leading strategic partnerships with major corporations on a range of sustainability initiatives across the globe. Mahlette has also provided consulting services on climate change, natural resource management, and public health programs for organizations including the World Bank, Pact, and JSI. She currently serves on the US Board of Directors for Farm Africa.

Mahlette holds a Masters degree in Environmental Studies from York University where she researched the relationship between childhood asthma rates and vehicle emissions in the City of Toronto, and a BScH in Environmental Biology from Queens University.
