Produce Safety Project Stakeholders’ Discussion Series (2009-2010)
RESOLVE worked in partnership with the Produce Safety Project, based at Georgetown University, to design, organize and facilitate a series of sessions around the country to discuss how best to enhance produce safety. The meetings were particularly targeted toward engaging growers to elicit input on what approaches they think work best for improving produce safety and taking into account regional, size and commodity-specific differences. Meetings were held in Rochester NY, Columbus OH, Tifton GA, College Park MD, and Monterey, CA.
USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Stakeholder Input Process to Enhance Risk-Based Inspection of Meat and Poultry Processing and Slaughter Establishments (2008-2009)
At the encouragement of their National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI) to seek the assistance of a neutral party to assist with reaching out to stakeholders’ regarding how best to enhance risk-based inspection, FSIS hired RESOLVE to design and conduct multiple processes to engage stakeholders in discussions about preliminary ideas to improve food safety through more effective deployment of FSIS inspection resources. Efforts first focused on meat and poultry processing plants and now are working on poultry slaughter establishments. Ms. Dilley leads this effort with a team of other facilitators.
