Workshop IV: Public Health-Based Metrics

On June 25-26, 2015, representatives from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), industry, consumer advocacy groups, academia, and associations attended a 2-day workshop to discuss and develop potential public health-based metrics for successful implementation of the FSMA, draw on other regulatory systems’ models for evaluating impact on public health, discuss key fundamentals of the draft Preventive Controls and Produce Safety Strategic Program Planning frameworks, and determine possible next steps for developing FSMA metrics.
